My husband has been working out of town the last couple of weeks and our kids miss him dearly, the other day our youngest Jordan would not walk away from the front door, he grabbed his blanket and sat there waiting for his daddy to come home. I kept telling him that daddy was working and he wouldnt be home tonight but he just sat there and if I tried to move him he would cry and go back to the door (he's 18 months old) So while I was making dinner I looked over to see him sleeping against the door with the blanket across his lap, this made my heart melt, it's so hard with him gone, its hard on all of us.
I almost forgot about this one...so last week or so ago, I was driving with the kids and I hear Jake yell "Mommy, I got bloody nose!" this happens quite often, so I pull over and as I'm cleaning him up I ask "honey why do you keep picking your nose? that's gross, and you get bloody" he replies "because my boogers taste yummy" he's so gross! What is it with boys? LOL!!

My dh used to work away a lot, too. It really is a heartbreaking thing to know that your children are missing Daddy. To keep myself from wallowing, I would always tell the children that we needed to tell Daddy how much we appreciate that he works so hard for us (reminded me, too).
